"Taking New Zealand basketball to the world is fantastic! I'm really happy for our teams and players in particular. They have made huge sacrifices to help keep the competition going and this is just another incredible opportunity for them all to be seen by a wider audience," said League General Manager, Justin Nelson.

"The response to the League's first ever player draft has been huge, it really has captured everyone's imagination and we can't wait to deliver all the excitement over two shows on Thursday night,"

The first show will feature the opening five rounds and will be broadcast as a Crowd Goes Wild special at the Sky Sport studio in Auckland.

The second show, which will start 90-minutes after the first broadcast ends and cover rounds six to twelve will be filmed at Sal's Pizza in Parnell with Huw Beynon, Casey Frank and Dillon Boucher set to deliver all the action as it unfolds.

"To have two-and-a-half hours committed to covering the Sal's NBL draft live is extraordinary, it really helps us promote this great competition and showcase a different side of basketball that is engaging people everywhere.

"All seven teams are holding draft parties, basketball fans are fascinated with the whole draft concept and people who otherwise may not have followed our sport are hearing about it.

"A huge thanks to Sky Sport and all of our partners for supporting us through a period of change. To put on something a bit different that is attracting new people to our game is something we should all be proud of."
