Sal’s NBL Draft – Day 6 Wrap

Day six of the draft process started with a massive bang as the news dropped that New Zealand basketball legend Mika Vukona has registered for the Sal's NBL 2020 competition.

Not only was it the perfect way to start the Queen's Birthday weekend, but Vukona's registration also delivered another milestone for the League's draft process with the Mike Pero Nelson Giants favourite officially becoming the 400th player to register for the June 11 draft.

Another interesting name to bob up was Joe Cook-Green, the 23-year old Dunedin native has returned from Texas Wesleyan University and looks set to be drafted and take his place at Trusts Arena.

And keep an eye out for 37-year old American Rashid Al-Kaleem, who doubles as the Director of Development at the SkyCity NZ Breakers. The former University of Florida guard could end up being a sneaky pick for a team looking for leadership and experience.
