Schick 3X3 Cup Commentary Team Ready For Fast & Furious Action In Invercargill

When 20 NBL teams hitting Invercargill next month for the Schick 3X3 Cup, it's fair to say fans at the games and viewers on Sky Sport are in for a treat as many of New Zealand's best players step on court for the fast and furious action that comes with this exciting basketball format.

Right in the thick of the action to bring viewers all the excitement will be commentators Huw Beynon, Donna Wilkins, Casey Frank and Andrew Dewhurst.

The Sky Sport commentary team will deliver 20 hours of live coverage across the five sessions.

For Beynon, the chance to get behind the microphone for some 3X3 action has him buzzing.

"With the explosion of 3x3 globally mimicking the growth of basketball in Aotearoa, I can’t wait to get behind the mic for the Schick 3X3 Cup," said Beynon.

"It’s so exciting to see so many Tall Blacks and Tall Ferns put their hands up for this event. Personally I can’t wait to “the Chief” Alex Pledger back in action on our shores in Sharks colours, the sharp-shooting combo of Ethan Rusbatch and Derone Raukawa for the Hawks, and the experienced and talent-laden Harbour Breeze side with Brooke Blair leading the way.

I’m so excited to get back alongside my old mate Casey Frank, and join Andrew Dewhurst and Donna Wilkins in commentary for this awesome event. It's going to be action packed."

The Schick 3X3 Cup starts on Thursday November 12 (6:30pm), followed by two sessions on Friday November 13 (12pm-4pm / 6:30pm-10:30pm) and a further two sessions on Saturday November 14 (12pm-4pm / 6:30pm-10:30pm).

Tickets to the event at ILT Stadium Southland are now on sale and available HERE.

A key part of the coverage will also see a number of players getting behind the microphone, joining Beynon, Wilkins, Frank and Dewhurst.

"Many of our players have so much personality and getting them involved in the coverage will be entertaining, and  it's also a great chance for viewers to  get to know them a little more," said NBL General Manager Justin Nelson.

"We want viewers getting a real insight into what 3X3 is all about, so hearing from the players will take the fans as close as possible to all of the action."
